First aid fairness

MENTAL health first aid in the workplace should be as important as general first aid, a Scottish Lib Dem said.

Health spokesman Alex Cole-Hamilton backed a campaign by MHScot Workplace Wellbeing CIC (MHScot) which calls for mental health first aid training to be mandatory.

He said: “For too long mental health has played second fiddle to physical health.

“Stress prevention and early mental health intervention at work is a vital way of supporting people experiencing mental health problems.”
