Michelle’s been an inspirational First Lady
BARACK Obama, the leader of the free world, America’s first black President made an emotional speech last week as he prepared to leave office.
He went back to Chicago, where it all began. Addressing his loyal supporters, he spoke from his heart. He thanked his wife, Michelle, for taking on a job she hadn’t asked for. And for doing it with grace, beauty and style.
What a tribute and how well deserved. In eight years she hasn’t put a foot wrong.
She has raised their daughters through their teenage years in the White House and that can’t have been easy. She has travelled with her husband on foreign trips, mixed with some of the poorest people in the world and with princes and politicians.
She has promoted the value of a good education for girls. She gave hope to many disadvantaged young people who saw her as a role model.
Michelle Obama has been an inspirational First Lady. Intelligent, sassy, beautiful and dignified. No wonder her husband is proud of her.
And clearly they are a couple still very much in love. They now have a chance to enjoy a life together away from the pressures of the Presidency.
They deserve it.
