Oldest solutions are often the best

I WAS gifted a men’s grooming box for Christmas, complete with a nasal hair and eyebrow trimmer.

I used it the same day and was delighted by the results. However, later, I knocked it accidentally to the floor. I picked it up, tried it... and nothing! I put new batteries in the next day but they didn’t help either.

So I was just about to throw it in the bin when I had a thought. I dropped it to the floor again, picked it up and, eureka, it’s worked perfectly ever since!

This all made me think back to my father’s loud hand-slap on the top of our 1950s TV set.

Ah, sometimes the old remedies are still the best in this modern world.
