WIN a two-night break at The Elphinstone Hotel

-

WE’VE teamed up with the fabulous Elphinstone Hotel to offer readers the opportunity to win a two-night break for two with breakfast and dinner on one evening.

Situated in the centre of Biggar, 30 miles outside Edinburgh, The Elphinstone Hotel is a traditional and charming coaching inn steeped in a 400 year old history. The owners, Robert and Janette Allen, have been at the heart of the business for almost twenty five years. The family prides itself on the continued patronage of a busy local trade with a high level of repeat custom which clearly tells its own story.

With wooden beams and a roaring open fire, The Elphinstone is the perfect place for a cosy winter break and offers a warm and friendly welcome to visitors and locals alike. In the Elphinstone Restaurant the menu is varied with the focus very much on sourcing and utilising the best fresh, local produce. Scottish dishes such as Cullen skink, morag dhu and haggis in crisp panko breadcrumbs all make for a delicious starter while mains include fisherman’s pie, haggis in a wholegrain mustard sauce and pork and black pudding stack.

There is a range of dishes from around the world, catering for all tastes. After a delicious dinner, relax in front of the fire in the traditional old inn-style lounge and enjoy a glass of wine, a rusty nail or even a hot toddy.

No two bedrooms are alike – each is en suite, decorated and fitted to a high standard and all provide digital TV, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities, as well as access to hairdryer and ironing facilities.
