Do you support more devolution?
FEARS over Brexit have seen a change in independence polls with a reported 49% of Scots now backing a split. There were calls last week by a group called Devo Plus to find a third way between independence and the status quo by granting more powers for Scotland. Would you support further devolution?
What more does the SNP want from Westminster? No matter how much they get, it’s never enough. Davie Kerr,
Lochaber.
We voted to keep the union and that should be the end of it. No more referendums. The Scottish Government can no longer be trusted. Lorraine Anderson, Edinburgh.
Scotland should be ruled from Scotland, not London. Sandra
Wisely, Skene.
There should be more power for Scotland but not independence. Steven Richardson, Highland.
We have had enough talk about devo plus and so on. We don’t have enough resources to go it alone. Respect that. Irene
Thomson, Perth.
The currency question was one of the major things that caused the defeat in the last referendum. Settle this and give much more detail on all the ways in which Scotland could stand on its own two feet. Alan
Morrison, Glasgow.
I support more devolution. We get little recognition from London. They are barging ahead regardless of opinions.
Fiona McMillan.
Devolution is not working and there is no point in giving Holyrood more powers when they mess up the powers they have. Call a referendum in two weeks and get rid of the SNP for good. Ronald James, Angus.
I’d want power to be devolved to as local a level as needed. There is a crisis in democratic representation in the UK and people feel they have no influence over those who govern us. Stephen Calder, Peterhead.
With Brexit uncertainties it is better to stick with the systems currently in place. When things settle down it may be time to think of more devolution. Liz
Kelly, Glasgow.
I would support more powers being devolved but I do not think this is a good time to press for independence. Andrew
Clubb, Ellon.
