EQUALITIES Secretary Angela Constance will call on the UK Government to not cut benefits in Scotland when the bedroom tax is abolished.

Ms Constance will meet with the Department of Work and Pensions on Monday. Holyrood ministers are concerned when the bedroom tax is removed in Scotland, the UK Government will treat it as additional income and impose a cap.

The Scottish Government is to provide £47 million next year in a bid to mitigate the bedroom tax.
