Calls for overdraft overhaul
A CONSUMER group is calling for a crackdown on “punitive” unauthorised overdraft charges.
Which? looked into the cost of borrowing £100 for 30 days using an unauthorised overdraft.
It found that customers could be charged £150 more by some banks than it would cost at a payday lender.
The British Bankers’ Association said banks had invested heavily in digital technology to help customers avoid unnecessary fees and charges.
