Scrum fun for Maree

USUALLY focused on scoring political points, MPs and MSPs will compete for glory in a Westminster vs Holyrood rugby match next month.

In the scrum with the lads will be the SNP MSP for the Highlands and Islands, Maree Todd.

The former pharmacist will be more than able to hold her own during the clash in London on March 11, having played for Inverness Craig Dunain WRFC – the team based at the hospital she worked at – in her younger years.

“My passion for the game is just as strong these days, although my skill and fitness might not be,” she smiled.

She will be training with the Ross Sutherland RC girls at Invergordon on March 4 to get herself match-fit for the game at Richmond Rugby Club.
