No need for sadness

-

I DON’T think Jim Chambers needs to be sad at his grandson asking for a 23p air freshener when his grandad goes to heaven.

My grandson (now 11) was three or four when he asked me if I was going to die.

Wanting to reassure him, I replied: “Yes, everyone dies, but I’m not planning on it any time soon.”

My lovely grandson said: “Don’t worry gran, you’ll be in heaven with Jesus.”

Depending on his age when your time comes – which I hope will be some years away – your grandson will be older and will miss his grandad and have forgotten all about the air freshener.

If you are still with him when he’s old enough, you can laugh at this with him.
