Possible first step along the way to a Mourinho treble

-

JOSE MOURINHO could lift his first trophy as Manchester United boss today.

I reckon he will, despite Southampton’s best efforts.

But it won’t surprise me if he wins another two before the season is out.

The League Cup isn’t the biggest trophy for a club of United’s stature.

But Mourinho won’t see it that way – he will be fixated on winning it.

If he gets his hands on it, I reckon it will prove to be the first of many.

Jose has transformed the atmosphere at Old Trafford since taking over from Louis van Gaal.

Slowly but surely, United are becoming what they used to be under Sir Alex Ferguson – a winning machine.

Mourinho has proven his doubters wrong by driving that transformation.

Now he will be starting to imagine what might be possible.

Could he trigger a new golden age at Old Trafford? Absolutely.

The League Cup final comes first, but they are still in with a real shout of winning the Europa League and the FA Cup.

That would be one hell of a treble, from one hell of a manager.
