Run held in memory of tragic Scots runner

-

A 5k run will be held in Dunfermline today in memory of Captain David Seath.

The 48-year-old, from Crossgates in Fife, collapsed 2.3 miles short of the finishing line at last year’s London Marathon and later died in hospital.

Friends and family of Captain Seath, who was an officer in 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery, will take part in the run at Pittencrieff Park and will be opened by Lord Provost Jim Leishman.

At the same time, a team of David’s friends and former Army colleagues will run the London Marathon to raise cash for The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund, which has so far awarded 174 financial grants valued at more than £250,000 in his honour via Help For Heroes.
