Brother and sister get a wave review
SIBLINGS from the Highlands have triumphed at Scotland’s national surfing championships.
Iona McLachlan, who recently represented Scotland at the world junior championships in Portugal, clinched a third consecutive national under-18 girls’ title.
But it was an extra special victory for the Thurso teen as her 11-year-old brother Craig claimed the national under-14 boys’ title in his first competitive event.
“I am so happy to win the title again and even more so that Craig won too,” said Iona, 16.
“It was really intense watching him and wanting him to do well.”
Iona represented Scotland internationally less than three years after picking up a board for the first time.
