DEFEAT by Rangers today would see Celtic lose their ‘Invincibles’ run and end their hopes of the Treble.

But it won’t stop Brendan Rodgers celebrating his first season in charge.

“The perception for me is pretty clear, whatever the result is,” said the Hoops manager. “We have had a brilliant season.

“We achieved Champions League qualification, which Kenny Dalglish said was like a trophy in itself. That isn’t too far off the mark.

“To qualify was an incredible achievement.

“To then convincingly beat a very good Aberdeen team in the League Cup Final, win the league with the points margin we have, to be unbeaten and break a Lisbon Lions record is phenomenal.”

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha is going into his first Old Firm match in ABERDEEN won a dramatic Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden yesterday – and sent Neil Lennon into meltdown.

An unfortunate own goal from Hibs defender Darren McGregor sent the Dons on to the May 27 showpiece – and the Hibees gaffer into a post-match rage.

He branded his side “utterly pathetic” in a furious tirade as the dust of battle settled.

And he added: “Only Marvin Bartley and Dylan McGeough showed any responsibility. “The rest looked like the boy band they’ve been over the last three or four years.”

While Aberdeen celebrate, on-loan goalscorer Ryan Christie faces an anxious wait for the outcome of today’s Old Firm semi-final.

If Celtic win, he won’t be facing his parent club in the final. charge and defending his own unbeaten run.

He said: “What this match means is that it’s a semi-final and by winning it, we will be in a final.

“But it’s about the moment. Nothing else before it or after it.”
