IF YOUR FLIGHT HAS BEEN DELAYED, REMEMBER YOUR RIGHTS

-

AIRLINES have a duty of care to delayed passengers, even if cancellations are due to circumstances outwith their control.

If you have been left out of pocket by an airline, then you should keep a record of what you have spent and reclaim this using the current EU rule.

What happens to this rule after Brexit remains to be seen.

The airline must also offer meals, and accommodation during the wait for a rearranged flight. It should also cover transport costs between hotel and airport.

If your airline does not provide assistance immediately, keep your spending to a minimum, get receipts and claim reimbursement when you get home.

To claim, tell the airline the flight number and names of passengers.

You are entitled to recompense, make sure you get it.
