Has Sam set a reading record?

I THINK my record for reading your very fine paper will take some beating.

I first bought The Sunday Post in 1943 after joining the Army at the age of 17 – I’m now 91.

However, I was not able to purchase it for a while afterwards because the countries I was serving in did not speak English!

It wasn’t until 1948 when I returned to England that I started again buying it and have continued to do so.

When it arrives, I have to get to the door before my wife does and that has continued for the past 68 years!
