Missing woman’s body found

THE body of a missing woman has been found off the coast of Oban.

Janet Butterworth went missing from her home in Duntrune Place in Lochgilphead on Wednesday, sparking an extensive search.

Police said the 37-yearold’s body was recovered from the Sound of Kerrera, near to Gallanach Road in Oban, on Saturday morning.

Her death is not believed to be suspicious.

A police spokesman said: “A post mortem will take place to establish the exact cause of her death.

“However, at this time, there would appear to be no suspicious circumstances involved.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
