Family’s hope as police search Fife house

-

THE father of a Glenrothes man missing for three and a half years hopes a police search of a house will finally solve the mystery of what happened to his son.

Allan Bryant, 23, has not been seen since leaving the Styx nightclub in Glenrothes on November 3, 2013. His family believe he was murdered.

Uniformed officers guarded a house in Barnton Place while specialist forensic officers continued a search of a house into a second day yesterday.

The new search started on Friday and Mr Bryant’s father, Allan Bryant Sr, said he had been told not to expect any news until tomorrow at the earliest.

Mr Bryant Sr told The Sunday Post: “We’re totally in the dark at the moment. All we know is the police are still at the scene and they will be for the rest of the weekend.

“I really don’t know what will come of this but we’re just happy the police and major investigations team are still active in Allan’s case.

“We can only pray that we get an answer and some closure out of this.”

Mr Bryant’s family have said from an early stage in the investigation they believe Allan was killed and that his killer is still at large.

Det Insp Stuart Wilson, of Police Scotland, said: “We remain committed to getting answers for the Bryant family and any information we receive from the community will be assessed.”
