O’Hara is aiming for Hampden

MARK O’HARA has revealed his Dundee team-mates celebrated drawing Dundee United for a second time in the League Cup.

The City of Discovery rivals were paired together in the last 16 just minutes after the Tangerines claimed a shoot-out bonus point at Dens Park last Sunday.

And if Neil McCann’s Premiership stars start this game the way they finished last weekend’s, O’Hara reckons they can secure progression.

“Drawing United again was a surprise, to be honest with you,” said O’Hara.

“I was in the changing-room at the time, but there were boys watching the telly in the office and I heard a big cheer.

“I said: ‘Who have we got?’ then got told it was Dundee United. I didn’t even know that was a possibility.

“So it was a surprise, but it gives us a chance to put last Sunday right. That’s not because we didn’t play well, it’s more that we didn’t get the result we wanted.

“We didn’t get the ideal outcome in that game, but we can fix it this time, and having the chance to do it so quickly, against your rivals, is pleasing.

“We’ll be looking to pick up where we left off in the last one because we created more than enough chances to win the game.

“We’ll be looking for the same this time – but with a few more goals, hopefully!”

O’Hara broke into the first-team at Kilmarnock the season after they won the League Cup in 2012, but he saw the impact it made.

That is something the 21-yearold is keen to see Dundee reap the benefits of this season.

“The manager has spoken about it,” he said.

“A good cup run is something the club hasn’t had in the last couple of years, and if we win on Wednesday, I think we’ve got a good chance to get to Hampden.

“I was about at Kilmarnock for the League Cup win and there was a brilliant feeling about the place.

“Something like that has a massive impact. You see what it means to the fans, with the bus parades and everything.

“That’s something Dundee
