Gang rob and assault Paisley teen

POLICE are hunting a gang who assaulted and robbed a teenager in Paisley in a “despicable” attack.

At around 11.30pm on Friday, the group – aged 16 to 19 – attacked the 16-yearold victim near Fountain Gardens, Love Street, before taking his backpack and a sum of cash.

The victim then ran out of the park and police were called.

Detective Sergeant Michael Lochrie, from Paisley CID, said: “The despicable behaviour displayed by this group of youths is completely unacceptable and inquiries are under way to trace them.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed the group in the area, or anything else suspicious, to come forward.”
