Two injured in Arthur’s Seat fall

A MAN suffered severe head injuries after plunging 40ft down Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh.

Ambulance, fire crews and a rescue helicopter were called to the scene at around 5am yesterday.

Emergency services from Liberton and Tollcross used line rescue equipment to move the injured man to safety.

The casualty was airlifted from the scene following the fall and is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A second man with shoulder injuries was taken to the same hospital by ambulance. Several ambulances and fire engines could be seen while the helicopter came in to land at Holyrood Park.

The 822ft landmark is popular with tourists.
