A DOMINANT first-half display helped Blackpool to their seventh straight home league win with a 3-1 victory over Oxford.

Kyle Vassell and Callum Cooke struck early, before James Henry gave Oxford late hope in the first meeting between the sides since 2000, only for Vassell to strike again to seal the win.

Kwesi Appiah’s early goal was enough as AFC Wimbledon halted Blackburn’s charge up the table as they won 1-0 in their first-ever meeting.

Appiah reacted quickest in the 16th minute to his blocked shot, firing into the top corner as Neal Ardley’s men triumphed on the roadforthefirsttimethis season.

Itwasavictorythe visitors just about deserved, despite a late onslaught from the hosts, during which George Long pulled off an outstanding save from Bradley Dack to guarantee the points.

The goals rained in again at Fleetwood’s match at Portsmouth, but on this occasion, they mostly went in the Cod Army’s net as they lost 4-1.

Brett Pitman broke the deadlock four minutes before half-time, but Fleetwood drew level through Devante Cole.

Jamal Lowe nodded Pompey back in front and claimed his second and Pompey’s third 20 minutes from time with a superb solo effort.

Pitman completed his double with 12 minutes to play, while Fleetwood’s misery was complete when Kyle Dempsey was sent off for a second booking after 85 minutes.

Nick Powell, Will Grigg and Gavin Massey were on target as Wigan sunk 10-man Bristol Rovers 3-0, who were a man short after 30 minutes following Ryan Sweeney’s professional foul.

Bury picked up only their second point in seven games with a 0-0 draw against Plymouth.
