Single malt bid shock
A cask of Scotch has sold for a world record £287,000 at auction.
The 250-litre barrel of Macallan single malt has been lying in a Speyside warehouse for the past 30 years.
But whisky buffs bid the price to unprecedented heights in Hong Kong this week.
The winning offer of 2.4 million HK dollars plus commission smashed the previous record of 1.95 million set in 2014.
Each dram costs around £40 or £1000 per bottle.
