Brendan cannot risk playing the Celtic way this time
Playing “the Celtic way” has worked out well for Brendan Rodgers.
But I reckon he has to ditch it on Tuesday night – because “the Bayern way” is better.
There’s no way around it, the Bhoys took a bashing in Germany the other week.
Celtic stuck to their usual plan and were ripped apart.
I know enough about the Celtic Park factor to know the return fixture could be different.
But the atmosphere alone won’t do it.
I know it isn’t the way he likes his sides to play, but I think Brendan has to flood the midfield and deny Bayern time and space if the Hoops are to have a hope.
The Germans are just too deadly to open up against.
On the plus side, beating Aberdeen the way they did in midweek will have given Celtic a big boost.
They were different class at Pittodrie – even Ally McCoist admitted it when I spoke to him on Friday!
Given Rangers’ latest troubles, it must have pained him to say so! But Bayern are a different proposition to the Dons and the Gers.
If they have space in which to work they will destroy you, no question.
