Bremner is bookies’ tip for
Bookies have made Ewen Bremner the favourite in a three-way Trainspotting tussle for Scottish BAFTA glory.
The T2 sequel of the iconic movie is up for several gongs at next week’s ceremony.
But the Best Film Actor award is a straight fight between three of its biggest stars.
Bremner is 6/4 with McBookie to land the prize after receiving rave reviews for his portrayal of hapless junkie Daniel “Spud” Murphy.
But Robert Carlyle – who reprises the role of psycho Begbie – and Ewan McGregor – as reformed character Renton – are the other nominees with both 5/2 to pip their co-star.
McBookie spokesman Paul Petrie said: “It’s a remarkable feat for one movie to throw up all three nominees for Best Actor.
“But that’s a measure of the enduring grip that Trainspotting has on the nation’s imagination.
“Ewen Bremner is, in many ways, the least celebrated actor in this trio.
