Mr Antolini looking to make plans for Nigel
Nigel Twiston-davies can lift today’s Sussex Champion Hurdle at Plumpton with his in-form eight-year-old, Mr Antolini.
With just over £31,000 to the winner, it’s a decent pot and the handicapper has raised the selection just 6lb for his latest win.
That was in a Grade 3 at Sandown, three weekends ago, when he got the better of Call Me Lord on the run-in and was eased close to home.
The son of Catcher In The Rye has been very progressive since moving from Garrett Power in Ireland and Jamie Bargary can take off 3lb.
Jumping Jack is taking frustration to ridiculous degrees, but perhaps a big drop in grade today will do the trick for trainer Chris Gordon.
Last Sunday the fouryear-old was beaten just five-and-a-quarter lengths in fourth by Malaya in a Class 2 handicap at Ascot.
With the four-yearold’s 6lb allowance and a drop into a maiden hurdle, with no issues with conditions, this might be his day.
Mister Malarky possibly needs a step up in trip from two miles. Gold Cupwinning trainer Colin Tizzard is going for it.
The five-year-old just has the edge on figures in the opening novice hurdle and his November Kempton win is working out well.
