Two goals from Malcolm Macdonald and one from Graham Rix gave Arsenal a 3-0 win over Orient in the FA Cup semi-final.

50 YEARS AGO

Alex Ferguson (above) scored twice as Rangers beat Dundee United 4-1 at Tannadice.

Jimmy Johnstone and Bobby Lennox got the goals as Celtic won 2-0 away against Hearts.

Aberdeen and Kilmarnock drew 1-1 at a snowy Pittodrie.

The scoring was over in five minutes, with Davie Johnston putting the Dons ahead and Eddie Morrison equalising.

Dundee’s match with Morton was abandoned at half-time with the Greenock side leading 1-0 though a Joe Mason strike.
