Any chance of my toe poke 30 years ago being looked at?

-

I’ve no problem with Harry Kane being awarded another goal by the Premier League Goals Accreditation Appeal Panel.

The Spurs striker has been slammed for taking the strike against Stoke City a w ay fro m team-mate Christian Eriksen.

It seems to some that it’s a bit petty, and others have claimed he’s obsessed with winning the Golden Boot.

But his manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has no problem with his striker going for the goal – and neither have I.

I believe him when he said he got a touch on the ball.

I’d always want a forward that lives and breathes goals in my team.

We have to accept that times have changed and football seems obsessed with statistics.

Players like Harry Kane come under intense scrutiny, and those who mock his appeal for a goal would be the first to raise doubts about his ruthlessness if he didn’t seem bothered.

I don’t believe for a second that Kane thought claiming the goal would cause such a fuss.

Anyway, just how far does the Goals Accreditation Appeals Panel go back?

There’s a Manchester United goal at Old Trafford against Everton over 30 years ago where I’m convinced I made contact with a toe poke just as it crossed the line!

Any chance?
