Dunfermline began in positive fashion, clearly determined to make it four wins out of four in what has been an impressive start to the campaign, with James Craigen, Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Mark Durnan all coming close in the early stages of the game.

It was the visitors, however, who made the breakthrough nine minutes from the interval, Jordan Allan’s deep cross being cut back by Kevin Fell to Peter Macdonald, who fired past debutant keeper Cammy Gill.

The Fifers drew level just two minutes after the restart, Louis Longridge releasing Myles Hippolyte, who beat Binos keeper Cameron Binnie with a well paced shot.

They edged in front nine minutes later, James Vincent heading home from close range after El Bakhtaoui’s clever flick had struck the crossbar.

Dunfermline secured victory late in the game when a powerful shot from substitute Andy Ryan came back off the crossbar, leaving Hippolyte free to head home his second of the afternoon.

The opening goal came when Robbie Mcintyre rifled into the top corner from 20 yards.

Stranraer responded quickly, though, through an Adam Cummins header.

The hosts then had the lead back when Gareth Rodger nodded home a Craig Thomson cross.

The lead wasn’t to last as Grant Andersen finished well just two minutes later.

The hosts controlled the second half, with Thomson’s 30-yard free-kick being added to by Blair Henderson with 10 minutes remaining.
