BRORA RANGERS beat WICK ACADEMY 2-0 under new player-manager Steve Mackay. The Cattachs made the breakthrou­gh on half-time, with Paul Brindle’s cross being slid in at the back post by Kyle Macleod. Campbell added the all-important second when he neatly lifted the ball over Wick keeper Sean Mccarthy.

Neil Gauld gave INVERURIE the lead against BUCKIE THISTLE on 20 minutes. With Scott Adam seeing red for dissent after changing his top, Locos took advantage of the extra man in the closing stages, and former Jag Chris Angus fired a low shot into the net in the final few minutes for a 2-0 success.

TURRIFF UTD beat HUNTLY 3-2. The visitors’ David Ross struck a free-kick up and over from 25 yards and into the net high inside the post. The hosts levelled on the quarter-hour mark when Kai Ross bundled in on his debut from close range. Two quick goals from United’s Ross Anderson and James Chalmers put the visitors 3-1 up before Huntly captain Michael Clark saw his former team-mate Fraser Hobday parry a spot-kick, but teenager Reece Mckeown followed up to net the rebound.

Gary Fraser, Stuart Anderson, Andrew Greig and Garry Wood netted as FORMARTINE accounted for NAIRN COUNTY 4-1. Dylan Mackenzie netted for Nairn.

FRASERBURG­H’S Scott Barbour revelled in his return to Bellslea and ran on to a Ryan Cowie feed to fire home an 11th-minute opener against STRATHSPEY. He hit another, along with Ryan Cowie, Gary Harris and Graham Johnston as they won 5-1. Thistle’s late consolatio­n goal came from Scott Lisle.

Robert Scott (2), debutants Leszek Nowosielsk­i (2) and Robbie Allan, Dane Ballard and Michael Dunn were the marksmen for DEVERONVAL­E in their 7-0 rout of LOSSIEMOUT­H.

ROTHES hammered FORT WILLIAM 11-1. Former Fort man Iain Maclellan opened the scoring, then hit another along with Jaime Wilson (4), Scott Graham (3), Scott Davidson and Jamie Duff. Fort goal came from Liam Taylor.
