Vika Bull and the Essential R&B Band tell the story of soul legend Etta’s turbulent life and features songs such as Tell Mama, Something’s Got A Hold On Me, Sugar On The Floor and At Last.

Etta’s work schedule coincided with a growing addiction, but she conquered her demons and continued to perform into her 70s, influencin­g everyone from Janis Joplin and The Rolling Stones to Christina Aguilera, Adele and Amy Winehouse.

This is the final day of Scotland’s composer-led music festival, now in its 5th year.

Created and run by pre-eminent composer Sir James Macmillan, who grew up in the Ayrshire town, there is a packed schedule of events.

The Festival Service at Auchinleck Parish Church has the Novantae singers conducted by Andrew Mctaggart; the Festival Promenade Concert in Dumfries House hosts short recitals; and The Sixteen choir conducted by Harry Christophe­rs is the finale concert in Trinity Church.
