High time we took on trolls

Any move to clamp down on online abuse is welcome in my book.

The Electoral Commission said trolls should face up to 10 years in prison if they intimidate politicians at elections, and those convicted of trolling should be prevented from standing for office. Fine – but it’s not just politicians.

When I was coaching the British Women’s Team I saw some of the abuse and death threats aimed at female players. It’s mostly by men, and often it’s gamblers who have lost money betting on these players.

Politicians aren’t the only ones who get targeted by these idiots.
