Fake moon rising

A Chinese city is sending a fake moon into orbit to help illuminate its streets at night.

Officials in Chengdu, in Sichuan, revealed plans to use the mirror satellite to reflect sunlight and replace street lights in the city of 16 million people.

Scientists say the artificial moon will produce at least eight times as much light as the normal moon.
