Search for yard thug

A man has been viciously attacked at a scrap metal yard.

The 61-year-old was assaulted on Friday afternoon at the yard on French Street, Renfrew.

He was badly injured and received a number of cuts on his upper body, but managed to get to a hospital.

After being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University hospital he was discharged.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw two men running from French Street around 2pm to get in touch.

They believe the culprits carried out a targeted attack on the man, and may have had access to a vehicle due to the location of the incident.
