OCTOBER 21, 1943

The Provisional Government of Free India was declared with the support of the Axis powers.

Led by Subhas Chandra Bose, it was established in Japanese-occupied Singapore by Indian nationalists in exile.

Its army was annihilated in its only battle and the Free Indian movement ended with Japan’s defeat.
