LOCHEE UNITED ended GARTCAIRN’S unbeaten run this season with a confident display and fully deserved their 2-0 Scottish Cup victory. Grant Lawson gave the Bluebells the lead just before half-time and Connor Birse made sure with a second four minutes into the second half.

THORNTON HIBS had an excellent 3-1 victory over KIRKINTILLOCH ROB ROY. Garry Thomson scored on either side of half-time to put Hibs in command and Ben Anthony made it three in 85 minutes. Willie Sawers netted for Rob Roy with two minutes to go.

TAYPORT were taken to the cleaners by ROSSVALE, who were three up in the first 12 minutes and went on to win 5-1. Chris Liversedge netted the Fifers’ consolation counter.

DUNDEE VIOLET produced one of the biggest shocks of the round when they travelled to ARTHURLIE and came away with a 3-1 victory. Sean Tucker netted two penalties for the Pansies, with Cammy Black also on target. Del Mcnab was the Arthurlie marksman and they also missed a last-minute penalty.

Bryan Duell gave DOWNFIELD the lead against ST ROCH’S, but it was the Spiders only joy as the home side hit back strongly and ended up 4-1 winners.

A Liam Mcartney double helped NORTH END to a 3-0 victory over ABERDEEN EAST END. Frankie Devine was the other Dokens scorer.

HURLFORD UNITED had to come from behind to defeat visitors BROUGHTY ATHLETIC 2-1. The Mcbookie.com Premiership leaders trailed at the interval, but second-half goals from Ryan Caddis and Ross Robertson turned the match around.

TROON eventually shrugged off the challenge of NAIRN ST NINIAN 4-2 thanks to former Dundee player Christian Nade’s second hat-trick in two games. Ross Mccrea opened the scoring, but Daniel Horsburgh quickly levelled for the visitors before Troon moved in front before the break thanks to Nade’s first goal. Matty Grant equalised early into the second 45 minutes before Nade struck twice to secure his side’s victory.
