Not sure everyone would like the idea of their loved one resting at the side of the hard shoulder. Not a concern for me – I am leaving my body to science.

Judi Martin, Aberdeenshire

I appreciate that available space is becoming a problem in cemeteries and graveyards but I can only imagine the chaos caused attending an interment or visiting the grave of someone interred at a roadside.

Lorna Smith, North Yorkshire

James Walker, Glenrothes

I’m all for woodland burials. I fear burials alongside busy roads would be a health and safety risk with the amount of vehicles on our roads.

Gary Hopton, Fife

Margaret Gibb, Fife

Allison Scotland, Roxburghshire

I advocate more cremations.

David Hillerby, Durham

Davie Kerr, Lochaber

Dawn Nelson, Dunfermline

How can you spend some peaceful time with trains and vehicles racing past?

James Plenderleith, Edinburgh
