Bah is out to heap more misery on Gers
Progres Niederkor n’s 17- year- old goalscoring hero, Issah Bah, has warned Rangers the Luxembourg side are set to hand them another European nightmare.
Steven Gerrard’s side will come up against the club that handed them their worst- ever result in European football once more in the Europa League on Thursday.
Pedro Caixinha’s side infamously went down to a 2- 0 defeat in the return two years ago before the Portuguese manager retreated into a hedge to remonstrate with irate Rangers fans after the game.
Progres won the right to face the Light Blues in midweek by defeating Irish side Cork City 3-2 on aggregate, despite losing their home leg 2-1.
They were two goals down and heading into extra time before Equitorial Guinea kid, Bah, netted two minutes after coming on as a sub to send them through.
And he’s convinced history can repeat itself against the Scottish giants.
Bah said: “I cried when I scored the goal that took us through. It’s destiny. It was my first goal for the club.
“The manager said to me when I went on to go out there and make history – and within two minutes I’d managed to do that.
“My parents were in the stand to watch me, and when I saw them after the game, I couldn’t hold back the tears.
“For a club like ours to get through to the next round is an amazing achievement, and we have our reward by playing Rangers.
“We have a great squad here and we are determined to go as far as we can in this competition. There’s no club we fear”
And Bah has been tipped to make a big impact against the Ibrox side by Progres’ sports director, Thomas Gilgemann.
He said: “We took a chance by signing him, but he’s a kid who has such a big personality, even at the age of 17, that he’s brightened up the squad.
“He is raw, but he has a huge amount of talent and will be a big player.”
