John Robertson last night warned Caley Thistle to be wary of taking Tuesday night’s opponents Cove Rangers lightly.

Group D remains a threeway fight given the form of surprise package Peterhead, but a final game shoot-out between Caley Thistle and Championship foes Dundee looks likely.

Robertson, though, has too much respect for the visiting Highland League champions to entertain complacency.

The Caley Thistle manager, pleased with the 4-1 win, said: “There’s another vitally important game here on Tuesday night. This win only sets us up for a final day showdown if we’re professional enough to take care of Cove.”

The hosts grabbed a sixthminute lead through Jordan White’s glancing header from a James Keatings corner.

Raith rarely threatened, but six minutes before the break Grant Anderson’s attempt spun off Carl Tremarco for a corner before Kyle Benedictus sent a free header over the bar.

For all their dominance, the Highlanders were undone four minutes into the second half.

Kieran Macdonald’s cross evaded home defenders, allowing Lewis Allan to slam home from 10 yards for his first Raith goal.

It took seven minutes for Caley Jags to recover, with a Walsh corner met by a perfect front-post header by Donaldson.

And it was 3-1 within a couple of minutes as Walsh, again, whipped in the delivery from the far right and Aaron Doran finished from close in.

Walsh was supplier again in added time with a cross for Todorov’s bullet header finish.
