■ With 25 minutes gone in this Highland League Cup tie against hosts HUNTLY, BRORA RANGERS’ Paul Brindle played in a dangerous cross from the left and Logan Johnstone turned the ball into the net at the near post. Six minutes later, Brora got bodies into the box and Andrew Macrae got into a good position to tap in from close range. Brora netted three goals within 14 minutes of the second half starting to secure their semi-final berth. Fifty seconds into the second half, Dale Gillespie floated in a corner-kick for Alistair Macdonald to power a header into the far post. Then great play from James Wallace saw the winger lift a shot beyond Euan Storrier at the near post to make it four. Two minutes later, Andrew Macrae chipped over the keeper for a fifth after the home defence failed to clear. Brora netted their sixth when Storrier failed to claim the ball and Jordan Macrae got round the keeper before slotting in from a tight angle. CLACHNACUDDIN’S Alan Kerr put them ahead early on against visiting DEVERONVALE, but this league match was to turn in the favour of the visitors just before half-time. In the 41st minute, the ever dangerous Colin ‘Coco’ Charlesworth levelled before Scott Dunn marked his return to Grant Park with a goal against his former club just two minutes later. Fraserburgh loanee Ryan Sargent made his first major contribution to the Vale cause when he set up Coco to make it 3-1, with Ross Archibald coming off the bench to round things off in injury time. The scoreline was harsh on the home side, who showed a real fighting spirit throughout, typified by a James Beeston effort that struck the post in the 94th minute. With Claggan Park waterlogged, a quick fixture reshuffle saw LOSSIEMOUTH host this basement battle against FORT WILLIAM.

Fort William probably edged the first half, but neither team was able to score. Lossie visibly grew in confidence and eventually won the game 2-0 with second-half goals from Brodie Allan and Ryan Sewell 25-yard effort.
