■ INVERURIE LOCOS blew the chance to close to within three points of the league leaders and might have ended the day pointless had HUNTLY not missed one of two spot-kicks. Andy Low’s side took the lead when Chris Angus nodded home. Huntly should have levelled on 39 minutes, but Declan Milne’s lacklustre penalty was saved by Andy Reid. When Jamie Michie fouled Glenn Murison in the area for a second time, sub Kai Ross netted the penalty.

■ Hosts BUCKIE THISTLE beat CLACHNACUDDIN 2-1 and were a goal up at the break thanks to an eightyard shot by Ross County loanee Jack Murray. Clach hit back with a solo effort by Thomas Lewis, but, late on, Kyle Macleod earned a penalty for the home side, and Sam Urquhart converted.

FORMARTINE UNITED beat visiting FORT WILLIAM 5-2. Roddy Kennedy cracked an early left-footed effort to put Fort a goal up, but Formartine levelled through Graham Rodger, then Aaron Norris hit a double and Rodger scored another two to make up his treble. Ross Gunn fired in another for Fort late on.

■ DEVERONVALE lost 2-1 at home to ROTHES. Vale scored on 27 minutes when Ryan Sargent netted with a closerange header. Rothes levelled just before the break as Glenn Main curled home a 20-yard free-kick, and the visitors went ahead two minutes later as Michael Dunn failed to clear and Aiden Wilson ran in to score from 16 yards.

■ STRATHSPEY THISTLE went down 2-0 to visitors NAIRN COUNTY, who got their noses in front halfway through the first period when Fraser Dingwall headed in. Nairn gave themselves breathing space with just over 20 minutes to go when Scott Davidson fired a free-kick beyond Michael Maccallum. The Jags ended with 10 men after Martin Duncan saw red.

■ Visitors WICK ACADEMY got off to the perfect start with a goal inside the first six minutes in their 3-2 away win over TURRIFF UNITED, Jack Halliday shooting home from six yards. Henry and Grant Aitkenhead made it 3-0 before a late Turriff rally saw them grab two goals through Cammy Bowden and Murray Easton.

■ As work continues to repair facilities at Grant Street following the fire on Christmas Eve, Saturday’s scheduled league match between Clachnacuddin and Fort William has been switched to Friday at Canal Park Astro, Inverness (KO 7.45pm).
