Treat yourself - bring the salon home for a more beautiful you

-

Waxing, facials, trims, and blow dries – we are all missing our favourite salon appointments right now. But self-isolation doesn’t have to mean giving up on self-care. Here, brand expert Wendy shares how to replicate your favourite treatments.

Microdermabrasion

In the beauty salon, a microdermabrasian facial will refresh your skin and help to lift light scarring, blocked pores and fine lines. Wendy advises trying the Silky Bae Baevac (£24.99) for similar results at home.

She explained: “The Baevac uses diamond treatment tips to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells from the top layer of the epidermis, and stimulating production of new skin cells.

“The device comes with a selection of six detachable heads, designed to treat hard to reach areas, such as your nose, as well as light mass extraction of blackheads on your cheeks.”

Eyebrow waxing

If your brows are starting to look a little wild, you don’t have to embrace your inner Frida Kahlo.

“Made in Switzerland in 45-steps from surgical stainless steel, Rubis’ ION Classic Tweezers (£25.95) are perfectly aligned to grip even the smallest hairs for a professional, airbrushed finish,” said Wendy.

“Acid-proof, anti-magnetic and rustproof, the tweezers are finished with an anti-bacterial coating, and make-up artist Bobbi Brown even called them, ‘The Ferarri of Tweezers’.”

Micropeel facial

Wendy said: “Turn to bestselling French pharmacy skincare brand Embryolisse for their Night Peeling cream (£18). The nutrient-packed treatment promotes cell renewal overnight, when skin is most receptive, and is suitable for even the most sensitive skintypes.

“The multi-functional formula works to exfoliate, moisturise, soothe and soften skin for a smoother, refined texture that glows with youthfulness.

“Enriched with a cocktail of AHA, glycerin and bisabolol,

the formula gently buffs away dead skin and impurities.”

Bouncy blow dry

Missing your weekly in-salon blow dry? Wendy has just the product to get your locks looking lush.

She advised: “Celebrate your natural wave and curls with Only Curls’ sell-out, 5-star rated Enhancing Curl Gel (£16). With a special blend of avocado oil, kukui oil and aloe, the wonder product naturally hydrates hair, minimises frizz and maximises curl impact.

“Plus, it has a salon-worthy fresh citrus and coconut fragrance, the formula is 100% vegan and the bottles are made from 100% recyclable bio-plastic.”
