Sharkkills scubadiver

A 20-year-old scuba diver has died after being attacked by a shark in Australia.

The man was diving off the coast of Queensland on Friday when he was bitten on the legs by the shark.

He was given first aid at the scene by a doctor and nurse until paramedics arrived in a helicopter. But, despite emergency treatment, the diver died at the scene.

Fraser Coast mayor George Seymour said:

“The loss of a young life with his future before him is a tragedy.”
