Pre-season training continues apace for Scotland’s Premiership players as they gear up towards the planned August 1 kick-off.

Covid-19 precautions make it an even more complex process than normal, where sports science now plays a huge part.

Things were once so different, where running till you dropped was the order of the day, and innovation was running up and down sand dunes until you were physically sick.

Skipping provided some light relief, however, as shown (right) from a Rangers’ pre-season session at The Albion more than 50 years ago.
