Washer floods kitchen

-

Ruby Riddex was at her wits’ end when her dishwasher flooded her kitchen for the second time and she couldn’t get a hold of anyone to fix it.

Ruby, from Cumnock, Ayrshire, kept having difficulties with her Hotpoint slimline dishwasher. The appliance was covered by a care plan but the same fault kept re-occurring.

“I had many weeks without its use while I waited for appointments, or wrong parts had been ordered and replaced by more wrongly ordered parts,” said Ruby.

The final straw came when she was left without a dishwasher for almost two months because parts were out of stock and no time was given for availability for repair.

In frustration, she wrote to Raw Deal for help.

When we contacted Domestic and General, Ruby’s machine was soon replaced with an alternate model and the installation charge was waived.

Domestic and General said: “We are sorry that Ms Riddex had issues with her dishwasher and has had difficulties in contacting us.

“We want to ensure our customers have the best possible service and that our policies provide peace of mind to know that they can rely on us when things break down.

“We are pleased to have been able to replace the faulty dishwasher with an alternate model and that the customer is happy with the outcome.”

Ruby is delighted that she now doesn’t have to worry about her kitchen being flooded.

She added: “I’m certain this would not have happened if it hadn’t been for Raw Deal intervening.”
