BAYERN MUNICH stay top of the Bundesliga, despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home to WERDER BREMEN.

The visitors went in front just before the interval with a great firsttime finish from Maxi Eggestein from inside the area.

Just after the hour, French winger Kingsley Coman levelled with a far-post header from Leon Goretzka’s cross.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN moved to within a point of the top with a 2-1 success at ARMINIA BIELEFELD.

But it looked for a long time that a howler from their Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky might see them drop two points.

Leverkusen led at the interval thanks to Leon Bailey’s 27th-minute opener, but, two minutes into the second half, Hradecky watched in horror as a clearance kick spun off his boot and rolled over the goal-line behind him to put the hosts level.

His blushes were spared, though, in the 88th minutes when Aleksander Dragovioc stabbed home the winner.

RB LEIPZIG stay in third spot after drawing 1-1 at 11th-placed EINTRACHT FRANKFURT.

Frankfurt went in front just prior to half-time through Aymen Barkok, but parity was restored by the 57th minute with Yussuf Poulsen’s leveller.

In La Liga, fourthplaced REAL MADRID, missing a number of players through injury, drew 1-1 at second-top VILLARREAL.

Real got a perfect start, going in front with a Mariano, above, header after just two minutes.

The visitors struggled to put the game out of reach and visibly tired as the game wore on.

Villarreal got stronger and, with 14 minutes remaining, they were awarded a penalty when Samuel Chukwueze was brought down and Gerard Moreno slotted in the spot-kick.
