Koroma leaves it late to condemn Boro to a defeat

Huddersfie­ld sealed their first win in five games with an entertaini­ng 3-2 victory over Middlesbro­ugh at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Terriers went behind to Marvin Johnson’s early strike, but Carel Eiting equalised before Fraizer Campbell made it 2-1.

Britt Assombalon­ga thought his late penalty had earned a point, but Josh Koroma’s fine strike won it for Town.

Blackburn Rovers hung on for a hard- fought 2- 1 win over Barnsley.

Adam Armstrong lashed in a minute before the break, and Sam Gallagher’s sumptuous half- volley gave Rovers a cushion, before Romal Palmer gave Barnsley a glimmer of hope.

Watford captain Troy Deeney starred in a 4- 1 victory over Preston.

The 32-year old scored one and created another to give the Hertfordsh­ire side an easy win at Vicarage Road.

The hosts took the lead when Domingos Quina volleyed home. Deeney then made it 2- 0 from the penalty spot, before a long- range effort by Tom Barkhuizen took a deflection to wrong- foot Ben Foster and reduce the deficit.

But the two-goal advantage was restored by Nathaniel Chalobah, before de Jesus Joao Pedro sealed the win.

Tony Pulis marked his first home game as Sheffield Wednesday manager with a point in a 0-0 draw against his old club Stoke.

Cardiff eased the pressure on manager Neil Harris with a dominant 4-0 victory over Luton.

Early goals from captain Sean Morrison and Mark Harris put Cardiff on course for a win, before Kieffer Moore and Sheyi Ojo sealed a comprehens­ive victory.

Norwich got a taste of their own medicine at Carrow Road as a late goal from substitute Max Biamou cancelled out Mario Vrancic’s opener to earn Coventry a 1-1 draw.

Wayne Rooney’ s first game as interim manager of Derby ended in frustratio­n when a late goal earned Wycombe a 1-1 draw at Pride Park.

Duane Holmes ended the drought with a clever finish, but Wycombe levelled through Matt Bloomfield’s effort.

Birmingham and Mill wall ground out a stalemate in a 0- 0 deadlock in the fog at St Andrew’s.

Reading beat Bristol City 3- 1 at the Madejski Stadium thanks to goals from Oviemuno Ejaria, Yakou Meite and Eduardo Lucas Joao, with striker Nahki Wells finding the net for the Robins.
