Spring hasn’t quite sprung yet – we’re a wee while away from that. But romance is nonetheless in the air for one of showbiz’s most eligible bachelors.
Harry Styles is a global heartthrob. There’s as much said and written about his love life than about his hugely successful music and movie careers. The former One Direction star set tongues wagging last week when he headed to the wedding of his manager Jeff Azoff and Glenne Christiaansen.
Harry arrived at the ceremony hand in hand with Booksmart director Olivia Wilde.you might also recognise her as the star of TV series House, alongside Hugh Laurie.
Olivia is currently directing Harry in her latest film, called Don’t Worry Darling, and they are reported to have quickly grown close on set. Last week, the pair were pictured carrying luggage and arriving at Harry’s house here in
Los Angeles.
Taking your new beau to a wedding?
Things look promising for this glamorous new couple.
At 26, Harry is 10 years Olivia’s junior. Will that age gap make a difference? I’m not sure. Harry has a bit of a history with older women.
In 2011 he had a brief relationship with much-missed Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, who was 14 years his senior. He dated singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who was four years older than him, and then Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, 16 years older. Although none of those relationships lasted so watch out, Olivia!
Harry has also released a new music video in which he is joined by Fleabag star Phoebe
Waller-bridge. The actressproducer is nine years older than Harry...look out, Phoebes!
One story which made me smile last week involved one of Hollywood’s good guys. As a younger man Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was homeless for a spell.
He was helped out by a friend, Bruno Lauer, who bought him a truck for the princely sum of about £30. Dwayne repaid the favour by last week gifting Bruno a truck worth £25,000.
What a good geezer, and a lovely way to kick off 2021.
There was a very strange and very sad story out here in LA last week, which predictably prompted some “You Only Live Twice” headlines. We were told that Bond Girl Tanya Roberts, who starred opposite Roger Moore in A View To A Kill, had died. She apparently collapsed while walking her dogs in Los Angeles. After her manager issued a statement, tributes began to flood in from friends and co-stars.
But then it was announced that Tanya was actually still alive. Her manager had apparently been under the impression she’d passed away but, in fact, she remained in a critical condition in hospital. Tanya sadly did die two days later.
It was a bizarre turn of events which only seemed to heighten the tragedy of her passing. Tanya was great in A View To A Kill and will be sadly missed.
