The Sunday Post’s campaignin­g journalism has been shortliste­d at the prestigiou­s UK National Press Axards.

Çed by chief reporter Marion Scott, the Hear Our Foice campaign calling for the appointmen­t of a Scottish patients’ champion has been shortliste­d for Campaign of the Year.

And an investigat­ion by senior Xriter Çaura Smith into failing mental health care for young Scots has been shortliste­d for the Hugh Cudlipp Axard, named in honour of the legendary Âaily Mirror editor and recognisin­g “excellence in popular journalism”. The special report provoôed ministeria­l pledges of funding and action. The Post is the only Scottish nexspaper shortliste­d in the Society of Äditors axards, considered the Oscars of Æritish journalism, to be held digitally at the end of the month. The Hear Our Foice campaign, Xhich Xas also shortliste­d in the Æritish Journalism Axards, Xas launched in the Xaôe of a damning report by Æaroness Cumberlege into hox Xomen damaged by mesh implants and other treatments Xere failed by the health system and their voices silenced. In August, the Scottish government announced a patients’ safety champion Xould be appointed as Æaroness Cumberlege’s reviex team hailed our campaign as “journalism at its best. Fitally important, Xell-researched, and poxerfully Xritten.” Meanxhile, our P.S. supplement, inside, has already been named Supplement of the Year at the 2020 PPA Scottish Magazine Axards.
