Strictly’s Tess Daly is shocked to be in her 50s and says she feels more like 30. How do you feel about getting older?

-

I wouldn’t want to be 30 again. I feel comfortable in my own skin now and still dance around the kitchen to the Bay City Rollers! Elizabeth O’regan, 84

I love being in my 50s. It’s been a joy to get older, with each year getting better.

Morag Maich, 54

I realised I was getting older when my greatgranddaughter was born. Back then I worked out, cycled, and played golf and I still do.

Steven Richardson, 71

There is a lot I’d still like to do, but my body says “no” very loud and definitely. Liz Kelly, 87

I still feel the same as I did in my 30s and 40s, only slower. Ronald James, 77

I didn’t like being 30 but it gets better with each big birthday! I still love to dance but my old body is not so keen.

Joan Fordyce, 74

I never really accepted the idea of old age. I am blessed with good health so I walk everywhere and play golf regularly. David Coss, 91.

I am over 40 but never think about my age. Age need not be a barrier to fulfilling dreams. Allison Scotland

I feel like a recycled teen and always think positive. Hamilton Mclean, 74

Joseph Conlan was at his wits’ end after being chased by debt collectors over a bill that he had already paid.

In September, he paid a bill for £19 to courier company Fedex via an HSBC bank branch in Glasgow. He paid in cash and got a receipt from the teller.

“About a month later I received a reminder from Fedex stating that I hadn’t paid the bill, so I emailed them a copy of the receipt,” said Joseph. “A few weeks after that I received a final notice for payment.

“It took me days to contact someone from Fedex and they told me to go back to the HSBC and get more details.”

However, Joseph said, despite supplying Fedex with further information, debt collection letters started arriving at his home in Glasgow and the amount owed doubled to £38, which he eventually paid over the phone.

“I contacted the collections agency and explained the situation. They said they would sort it out with Fedex and that I would soon get my money back,” he said.

When no refund materialised, Raw Deal contacted Fedex on Joseph’s behalf. The company reviewed his case and moved swiftly to refund Joseph his £38.

Fedex said: “Outstanding customer service is a top priority for Fedex. We have been in direct contact with our customer to resolve the matter.”
