- By Wendy Rigg features@sundaypost.com

Any Dennis The Menace Fan Club member will recall the excitement of receiving a coveted wallet and googly-eyed Gnasher badge through the post. Now comic fans young and old can have their very own Beano handbag.

The Dennis Fan Club, created in 1976, has linked up with designer brand Radley London. Dennis and Minnie The Minx’s iconic black and red stripes are referenced throughout their new collection, which includes the Breaking Rule Book Street bag featuring screen prints of the characters.

Even Radley’s famous Scottie dog logo joins the gang, in his own red-and-black jumper.

The collection, available exclusively in Radley’s London and Glasgow stores and online

from October 4, also includes a collectible leather card holder which features the iconic Dennis and Gnasher Fan Club logo.

Radley London is an official partner of Beano: The Art Of Breaking the Rules, a major exhibition celebrating the world’s longest-running weekly comic, coming to London next month.

New and established artists including Turner Prize-winning Martin Creed, and Sarah Lucas, and The Specials musician Horace Panter will collaborate and show work inspired by the comic.

A jukebox filled with music inspired by The Beano’s rebellious streak, compiled by Saint Etienne songwriter Bob Stanley, will take its place at the exhibition. Artist Nicola Lane has reimagined Dennis aged 70, while visitors can walk through Beanotown as if stepping into the pages of the comic.
